I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Former two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really going ahead.
